Of all the distracting beauty snafus, bad breath is probably the one we hate most. Although the causes are usually quite obvious–heavily scented foods or lack of hygiene– sometimes the culprit is more than skin deep.

As the weather changes, dry mouth is inevitable and conditions like halitosis are sometimes caused by smoking, even after you’ve quit. Besides the required trips to the dentist and daily cleaning, there are several quick and easy ways to keep your breath fresh and teeth whiter than snow.

For starters, teeth cleaning doesn’t start and end with brushing. In addition to doing that twice a day, flossing is imperative as food lodged in between the teeth is the main cause of bacteria living in your mouth. The longer that bacteria sits, the stronger your breath smells. If your brushing tends to be rushed, investing in a tongue scraper is also recommended since food particles can hide there as well.

And yes, we know this is a common sense top, but we all forget at some point! A friendly reminder never hurt.
